She prayed and lit candles.

She sat on crossed legs and tried to see inside her soul.

She read the stars nightly and consulted the cards.

She tasted mushrooms and ingested powder.

Still, she never found the wisdom she sought.

  1. She sounds very young. I’ve actually done those things, too, but forgot to add “patience” to the equation. I eventually got there. I’m sure your character will, as well. Nice take on the prompt.
